Josh Harder throws his proxy vote to…New Mexico?

CD-10 – Yesterday, 33-year old Congressman Josh Harder sent a letter to the House of Representative Clerk, giving his proxy vote for California’s 10th Congressional District to New Mexico Congresswoman Debra Haaland. Josh Harder wrote in the letter dated May 26th that he was “unable physically to attend proceedings in the House Chamber due to the ongoing public health emergency.” Click here to see the letter.

“Churches, barbershops, and restaurants are opening up across the Valley. First responders, front-line workers and our farmers are out working every day, but Josh Harder says he can’t go to work for you. Instead of throwing our Valley voices to some Member of Congress from New Mexico, I’m more than happy to take Josh’s place representing the people of the Valley in Congress,” said Dr. Ted Howze.

“Now we know why Josh has been desperately trying to distract the media and voters – he’s throwing your voice under the bus, to let a representative from New Mexico fly to D.C. and vote for you.”

“PAC Man” Harder’s Donors: Out of District, Out of Touch

CD-10: Josh “PAC Man” Harder has a penchant for accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars in contributions from PACs, contrary to his public promises. However, recent finance reports have revealed that his donors are largely out-of-district — and out of touch with Central Valley voters.

As noted in reports published by Open Secrets and depicted below, Josh Harder’s PAC contributions are overwhelmingly ideological in nature (see Adam Schiff’s recent contribution) and originate from sources predominantly in the San Francisco Bay Area and even in New York City. In fact, only 6.5% of Josh Harder’s contributions are tied to sources in the 10th District.

Josh Harder Accepts $28,000 from “Mr. Impeachment” Adam Schiff

CA-10: Recent reports revealed that Josh “PAC Man” Harder has accepted over $28,000 in PAC contributions from Adam Schiff.

Unsurprisingly, Schiff’s were not the only “schiffty” contributions exposed in Harder’s Quarter 3 FEC reports. Josh Harder accepted contributions from over 40 PACs last quarter, many fueled by D.C. special interests. He was even the #2 House recipient of special interest cash from Venture Capital PAC — two slots higher than Nancy Pelosi!

Josh Harder’s Deception Runs Deep

CA-10: Last week, on San Francisco columnist Joe Garofoli’s “It’s all Political” podcast, Congressman Josh Harder, aka PACMan, deceived Central Valley voters yet again. “I don’t take a single dollar of corporate money,” he vowed before rehashing old attacks on his predecessor for accepting pharmaceutical and organizational money. Listen below:

A close look at Josh Harder’s cash on hand reveals that the pharmaceutical companies Amgen and Sunovian Pharmaceuticals were significant contributors to PAC to the Future and Massachusetts-based 4MA PAC, respectively. Harder has also accepted funds from Florida Sugar Cane League PAC and Michigan Sugar Company Growers, just to name just a few of Harder’s many special interest-fueled political action committee contributions.

In fact, fewer than 10 percent of donors to Josh Harder’s campaign actually reside in California’s 10th Congressional District, and less than 3% of dollars raised have come from local residents.

Josh Harder has been repeatedly caught deceiving local voters about his top campaign promise to “refuse Corporate PAC donations,” and has instead accepted approximately $314,000 in PAC contributions to date.

Josh Harder: Partying like a Boss…a Party Boss

CA-10: During the 2018 election, then candidate Josh Harder said, “We need leaders with the courage to stand up to their DC bosses…”. But now, Congressman Josh Harder has taken tens of thousands of dollars from fellow Washington DC politicians – the same Party Bosses he criticized during his campaign. These Party Bosses don’t represent our Central Valley. So, who does Josh Harder represent?

Here are just a few of Josh Harder’s DC Party Boss donors over the last few months:

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco)
Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Greenbelt, MD)
Rep. Karen Bass (D-Los Angeles)
Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Oakland)
Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-Schaumburg, IL)
Rep. Nita Lowey (D-White Plains, NY)
Rep. Bill Foster (D-Aurora, IL)
Rep. Brad Schneider (D-Lincolnshire, IL)
Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Evanston, IL)
Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger (D-Baltimore, MD)
Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Rockville, MD)
Rep. Brad Sherman (D-San Fernando Valley)

Not only did Josh Harder deceive voters and accept thousands in PAC contributions funded by corporate special interests when he said he wouldn’t, but Harder is also raising thousands from Washington DC Party Bosses – while telling local voters he isn’t doing their bidding.
